So, yesterday, me and some of my fine knitting buddies ventured down to Lorna's Laces for a tour. You may recall we did this in December as well. Super fun. If you live in Chicago and have can get together 12 people, you can have your own Lorna's Laces tour. Seriously. Call your knitter friends. Then email Beth. It's so worth it. Anyway, so we drove down there and were so happy to see all the yarn dyeing in action!
Here's Beth (the owner of Lorna's Laces) dyeing some sock yarn in the Andersonville colorway:
Here is my haul:
What's that? You are jealous that you didn't get to go to Lorna's Laces? That's ok, I got you some yarn too!
That's right, a blog giveaway! Just leave a comment (including your email address or Ravelry name) and you will be entered into a random drawing for this lovely yarn:
I will be accepting comments until Thursday, November 12th at 5pm. Then a random number generator will select the winner. Good luck and happy knitting!

Oh, I'm ssssssooooooooooo jealous of your (multiple) trip(s)! Can't wait to see the fair isle mittens.
I so wish Chicago was closer!
In 1955 Mom moved from Chicago to SF. What's wrong with that woman? Didn't she know I'd want to be near Lorna's? Oh well, I'll just visit vicariously thru your blog. Thanks for sharing the photos and the yarn!
I always love posts about people's visits there. It looks like so much fun. Maybe someday!
Britnlind on ravelry too. Pretty stuff and probably
your second best idea ;)
I am not going to miss the next trip! purliegurlie
Looks like you had a ball, Jen! A girl can never have enough sock yarn.
That color is so pretty! I can't wait to see your fair isle mittens!
Glad you put our little outing together what a fun day we had.
I used to live in Chicago for a short time and wished I had know about/taken the LL tour - the yarn is so so so beautiful!! Love the colors you picked for your mittens and the contest! Thanks so much :)
Oh boy, do I understand screaming yarn!! I hope I win... I need a smile. I've had a really rough week. My husband's computer died, cat needed a vet visit (didn't die, TG), then my computer died. I've lost all my photos, all my knitting patterns (including the ones I'm writing), all the stuff for my acupuncture clinic (I'm the owner). Okay, it's my own fault I wasn't backed up, but it still hurts. :( Sorry to run on but the pain is fresh. sigh. Thanks for a very generous contest!
I am soooo jealous! I wish I lived near you, now I just hope to win!
I've been to Lorna's before, and Jen's right - it's a great tour. Love that colorway!

What a fun experience. I've always admired Lorna's Laces, but my LYS doesn't carry it, so I've never tried it. (sorry if this is a duplicate entry--I'm not sure that my last one went through!)

Mill ends can be fun if the "mistake" can be incorporated and doesn't involve too many knots.

Lorna's is in Chicago? Seriously? I wish I'd been a knitter when I lived there. Of course, there probably wasn't a Lorna's at that point. I lived there last in 1995. Wow. That's a long time ago now! (revlahart on Rav)
The tour sounds so much fun! Definitely something I'd love to do. The colorways you selected are lovely.

Wow sounds like a fun little trip! It's so nice of them to offer that tour, but unfortunately (fortunately?) I don't live near Chicago. But if you do know of any places in NYC that offer something similar I would definitely be up for those!
